Writer's Notes

I have decided to put up this page to help the reader understand my story a little better, just in case there is some confusion.

"And Misery Loves Company..." : For the longest time, the only one who owned minions was Gru...but that was before the military started making their own as well.  Through circumstances, Gru will have to work with a young military scientist to aid them in producing more minions but will this happen, only time will tell.

So this is the basic FAQ section in relation to my new fanfiction just so that way, we clarify a few things here or there.

1. Why don't the minions speak in minion?

Here's the kicker, I have read and seen what other fanfiction writers have done as far as how minions speak.  I've seen them write words backwards, I've seen them write in other languages with translations for the readers.  Heck, I saw one writer have them speak total fluent english but here's the thing, I'm not going to put in that much trouble just to make these little twinkies be understandable so in reality they are speaking minion but I'm choosing to translate for you.  Gru's minions and what they say to each other will be in italics and while certain characters may understand them, clearly not all do.  In sentences where they try to speak english, it will be more engrish in where it will be in broken up words and may be not quite worded right.  It's clear to me after seeing three movies with these creatures in them that they can understand english and speak some but are not totally fluent in it. 

2. Why can't Misery, Kiba, Nica, etc speak minion?

The way language works is that it is something you are taught to do, not something that you should automatically know from birth because believe me, if that was how it worked then I would be totally fluent in Spanish myself.  Logically Misery and her kids were raised by and around humans.  These humans do NOT know the minion language so logically they can't teach it so that is why she and others don't know it.  She does know Spanish as so does her children and this is because a friend of her Master taught it to her and she taught her children.  So basically any time Gru's minions speak to them, they have to speak in their broken english as you will see.

3. What minion characters will be featured in this fiction?

Basically minions from Despicable Me 1 and 2 as well as Minions but since this fiction takes place after DM2, Stuart and Kevin's personalities will be more based upon their DM 1 and 2 versions but Bob will be a slight excpetion since I do feel that in this timeline, he would still be a kid.  Also certain costumed minions will be given certain names based upon preferrence.

4. What does Henry want with Gru?

Patience is a virtue my friend and answers to this will come in good time.

5. Why is Misery a female minion?

It's been stated by Pierre Coffin himsefl that there are no such thing as female minions so considering the overabundance of testerone, I chose to make my fancharacter a female.  Also, I like the idea of seeing the clash between genders in how men and women differ on things and opinions so that's another reason for making her female.

6. Why is she a genetic experiment?

As stated earlier, there is no females which mean that logically the males are unable to breed so it only makes sense to me that if one were to create a female minion, it would have to be some kind of genetic project.  Also, logically we all start off as females due to our chromosome and addng one different is what makes something male.
